FamilyMalayali family · rooted in Kerala tradition

"A space that feels calm, minimal, and deeply connected to one's roots."

Devadheyam — God's gift — is a 3BHK residence that gracefully bridges two worlds. Designed for a Malayali family rooted in Kerala, whose heart beats with tradition even as their lifestyle flows effortlessly with the modern spirit of the city, the home was conceived as a subtle symphony: quiet, considered, and deeply personal.

The vision was clear from the first conversation — to craft a home that feels calm, minimal, and anchored in culture. Within the structure of a bustling city apartment, the design evokes the warmth and openness of a modern traditional home. Soft tones, natural textures, and clean lines form a canvas of understated luxury — one that speaks quietly, yet with complete confidence.

The Vision

From Conversation to Canvas

When the client allows the designer to be — to express freely, to blend creativity with authenticity — something rare happens. The moodboard for Devadheyam wasn't built from trend references. It was built from memory, from the feeling of a Kerala home at dawn, from the smell of wood and stone and oil lamps. Every material choice, every finish, every proportion began there.

The Design

From Canvas to Space

You arrive, and the home announces itself before you've stepped inside. A Nettipattam — the golden frontal ornament of Kerala's temple elephants, symbol of grace and sacred procession — marks the entrance with quiet ceremony. Beside it, a Kerala mural unfolds in its ancient visual language: figures and flora rendered in the earthy ochres and deep greens of a tradition that predates the apartment, the city, the century. Together, they say: this home knows where it comes from.

From this threshold, Devadheyam unfolds in layers. Light falls against earthy finishes and finds warmth it wasn't asked to create. Natural textures meet modern materials in a conversation that feels less like contrast and more like memory — the way a contemporary home in Mumbai might still carry, in its bones, the feeling of a Kerala morning.

The living room holds its most quietly theatrical moment — a hidden moving wall that dissolves the boundary between spaces, appearing and disappearing as the day asks of it. Onyx and marble light fixtures cast their glow without effort. Jaipur Rugs bring craft and colour underfoot. A bespoke crockery unit holds, nested within it, a minimal Mandir — the sacred made seamless, never forgotten.

And throughout: Keus home automation, Italian marble at the dining table, custom built-ins, a modular kitchen and wardrobes designed to the last centimetre — all present, none announced. Technology in the background. Beauty in the foreground. A home that feels elevated without ever feeling performed.
