"A home that has lived a full life — and now, a space that truly matches it."

This was not a home that needed to be reimagined — it needed to be honoured. An established couple, decades into a life built with intention, came to us not for a blank slate but for an elevation. He has spent his career shaping the interiors of India's most demanding corporate clients. She has shaped minds, collected the world in objects and art, and filled every room she's ever lived in with quiet, purposeful energy. Together, they wanted a home that finally felt worthy of all of it.

The brief was considered and clear: keep what works, elevate what doesn't. The living areas retained their bones but were refreshed through new upholstery and carefully chosen furniture. What was added was equally deliberate — an indoor balcony carved into the plan as a private retreat for work and music. And then the two spaces that would do the most work: a foyer that would set the tone from the very first step, and a master bedroom designed as a genuine sanctuary — an upgrade, after a lifetime of giving their best to everything else.

The Vision

From Conversation to Canvas

When a client has spent forty years developing an eye, you don't arrive with assumptions. You arrive with questions. We spent our first conversations not discussing finishes or furniture, but understanding the rhythms of their daily life — the way she moves through a home, where her collected pieces live, what a calm morning feels like to them both. The moodboard that emerged wasn't a trend exercise. It was a portrait.

The Design

From Canvas to Space

The palette set the emotional register from the start: warm neutrals as the ground, with colour arriving only through objects — a glazed ceramic, a painting, a textile brought back from somewhere far away. Nothing imposed. Everything chosen.

The foyer became the heart of the project. In a renovation, the entry is often an afterthought — here, it was the first thing we resolved. A bi-fold metal and glass partition. Concealed storage flush to the wall. Her artwork, lit deliberately. A space that stops you before you've even crossed into the living room.

The living room was refreshed rather than rebuilt — new upholstery, new coffee table, a wooden display unit that finally gave her collections a proper home. Texture paint behind the sofa added depth without drama.

The indoor balcony is its own world. Enclosed in acoustic panels, furnished with a generous work desk and a cane daybed, it earns its quiet. Part studio. Part retreat. A room that works as hard as the people who use it.

The master bedroom was designed last, and felt most personal. After a life spent in service of others — clients, students, a business, a family — this was the space designed entirely for them. Richer materials, softer light, a bathroom finished in warm travertine and matte black that feels more private hotel than home.

Colour, when it arrived, arrived quietly — through the green marble TV panel, through her travel pieces, through the artwork she's carried across decades of living. The home didn't change. It deepened.
